Industrial Visit to S. G. Phyto Pharma

Faculty of Pharmacy, Yashoda Technical Campus, Satara Organized Industrial Visit to S. G. Phyto Pharma (Faculty of pharmacy) An industrial visit was organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Yashoda Technical Campus, Satara on 3rd October 2025 for the T.Y. B. Pharm students to S. G. Phyto Pharma, B-53, with the objective of providing practical exposure to Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing processes. The visit was coordinated by Ms. A. V. Adsul, along with Mr. A. P. Jadhav and Ms. P. S. Shinde, under the guidance of Principal Dr. P. D. Jadhav and HOD Dr. A. M. Bhagwat. A total of 45 students participated in the visit. The team departed from the college at 7:45 AM and reached the industrial unit by 10:45 AM. The facility, spread over approximately 10,000 sq. ft., is well-known for manufacturing classical Ayurvedic medicines such as Choorna, Bhasma, Kadha, Taila, Kshar, Guggul Kalpa, Khalvirasayanas, Parpati, Chyawanprash, and Kupipakwa Rasayanas. The unit is systematically divided into sections for Purvkarma, Pradhankarma, and Paschatkarma, with dedicated areas for Panchdravya Shodhan, Maaran, and Amrutikaran. Students also observed the use of traditional purification methods like Dolayantra Vidhi. At the D21 unit, students explored advanced equipment such as cone blenders, automatic and semi-automatic capsule filling machines, blister packing lines, and liniment sections equipped with laser sensor label printing and digital environmental controls. Ms. Madhura Gune, Plant Head, interacted with the students and provided valuable insights into the company’s operations and the integration of traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with modern pharmaceutical technology. The visit helped students gain a comprehensive understanding of Ayurvedic drug manufacturing, purification techniques, packaging, labelling, and quality control practices. It successfully bridged theoretical learning with real-world industrial exposure. All faculty members and students expressed sincere gratitude to Principal Dr. P. D. Jadhav, HOD Dr. A. M. Bhagwat, and the management of S. G. Phyto Pharma for their support and cooperation in making the visit a great learning experience.
